John Eisler
tear here

Diaz Contemporary is pleased to present John Eisler’s second solo show at the gallery.  His new wall reliefs continue his exploration of painting as an exuberant proliferation of compromised and deteriorating surfaces. This is investigated further in smaller wall works, made of paper.

John Eisler completed his MFA at the University of Guelph in 2008.  He previously received his BFA in painting from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1997.  He has had a number of solo-exhibitions at Paul Kuhn Fine Arts in Calgary, including: Calendar (2006) and Per second Per second (2004). Recent group exhibitions include softcore HARDEDGE at the ART Gallery of Calgary (2010), which is travelling to the East and Peggy Phelps Galleries, Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California in August of 2011.
